Kresta Class Cruiser / Project 1134
in Pictures (part 3)

This section is dedicated to additional pictures of the 'Kresta' class / Project 1134 cruisers.  We would like to point out that all of our pictures are all authentic and were taken at some time when the Kresta was in active service.

The superstructure of a Kresta cruiser

Here we have a picture of a Kresta missile cruiser 'Vasili Chapaev' (hull number 549) somewhere in the Pacific ocean.  The major radar sets and missile batteries can be identified here, as can the position of the torpedo launchers.  This picture was taken by the US Navy on 8 June 1982.

The Vasili Chapaev at sea in 1982

This is another close up series of the Vasili Chapaev (hull number 549) taken by the United States Navy on 8 June 1982 as it cruised somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.  It is an excellent quality photo set that makes many of the details in the previous photo more visible.  Other smaller systems (such as the Side Globe EW systems) can also be seen.
