The Be-12 'Mail' in pictures

This section is dedicated to pictures of the Be-12 'Mail' seaplane.  Our pictures are authentic and were taken by NATO forces at sometime the aircraft was in service.

We will put descriptions with as many of the pictures as we can so that a greater understanding of the Be-12 'May' can be gained.

A distant Be-12

In this picture a Be-12 'Mail' can be seen flying over the sea as the aircraft with the camera moves closer towards it.  The photograph does not list where or when it was taken.

Be-12 'Mail' in Color

This is an interesting picture of a Be-12 in dark cloudy weather.  Almost no detail is visible, but the silhouette is fairly clear.

This photo was taken over the Pacific on 17 April 1990.

Aircraft No. 17

Here we have another photograph of a Be-12, this time from the rear side.  It shows many of the details of the aircraft, including the MAD boom and tail assembly.

As with many of these photos, it was taken by the US Navy.  No date or location were given.

The front of the Be-12 'Mail'

This picture shows the front end of the B-12 in great detail.  The array of windows below the cockpit can clearly be seen.

As with most photos in this section the picture does not list its date or location.

Be-10 side view

This photograph was taken by an observer on board the US Navy destroyer Oldendorf (DD-972) sometime in August-September of 1987.  The location was not given in the photo.

A Beriev over the sea.

This picture shows a Be-12 flying low over the sea banking away from the camera.  Many details are visible on the side of the plane.  Note the square to the rear of the number 15.
