Hello again readers, 

This January we will cover a variety of periods of Russian and Soviet history.  We will begin by examining the weapons of Nicolas I.  Next we will focus on the Soviet era, where we will examine equipment associated with chemical and nuclear war.  Along with this we will include an article detailing the history of the Red Navy during the Patriotic War.  We will conclude the month by adding two vehicles of the modern Russian military.

29 OCTOBER 2006	-	Medals - Added new Medals for Long Service and their Ribbons. Uniforms - Improved the OP-1 Chemical Protective Suit. History - Added the Afghanistan War Opposition and early Order of Battle pages. Field Gear - Added the DKP-50A dosimeter.
27 SEPTEMBER 2006	-	History - Added history of Soviet Air Force of the 1960's and 1970's. Field Gear - Added PVN-57E night vision goggles. Vehicles - Added the main pages for the SA-8 'Gecko', D-30 122mm howitzer, BM-21 'Grad', the BMP-1 armored fighting vehicle and T-5E 'Luna-M' (FROG-7) rocket launcher. Badges - Added a Patriotic War excellent scout badge.
29 AUGUST 2006	-	Vehicles - Added new pictures of the BTR-60, T-55 tank, Mi-8 Hind and M-1939 37mm Anti-Aircraft Gun.  Also added the T-44 medium tank, M-1974 / 2S1 self propelled howitzer, SA-3 'Goa', and Mi-1 'Hare' main pages and the history of the 2A3 Kondensator 2p.
25 DECEMBER 2005	-	Weapons - Added the M-1834 pioneer sword. Vehicles - Added the Komar missile boat, Alligator landing ship, Lebed landing craft, Polnocny class landing ship, M-1938 M-30 howitzer, M-1942 ZIS-3 76mm field gun, and a new picture of the Pe-2 'Buck' and Ivan Rogov amphibious assault ship.
27 NOVEMBER 2005	-	Weapons - Added the M-1856 bayonet. Badges/Patches - Added Russian Federation Border Guard badges and a Soviet Long Voyage badge. History - Added the Navy organization of the 1830's.
15 NOVEMBER 2005	-	Vehicles - Added the SU-100 assault gun, SS-1 'Scud' missile launcher, and new photos of the Hind helicopter, the BTR-60, and the SA-4 missile launcher.
31 OCTOBER 2005	-	Weapons - Added the M-1828 bayonet. History - Revised the Crimean War history timeline. Badges/Patches - Added a Excellent Military Construction Badge and ribbons for the Lenin Centenary Medal and Grateful Afghan People Medal. Vehicles - Added the Kondensator 2P howitzer.
30 SEPTEMBER 2005	-	History - Revised civilian timeline of Nicholas I era, added history and organization of the army of Nicholas I. Badges/Patches - Added M86 enlisted shoulderboards. Vehicles - Added the battleship Retvizan.
12 SEPTEMBER 2005	-	Badges/Patches - Added a Soviet Space Troop and Mine Clearing Badge; and a Russian Federation Officer Qualification Badge.   Two new Russian Army patches were added. Weapons - Added the M-1870 Berdan II Rifle.
