This section is dedicated to pictures of the 'Oscar' class guided missile submarine. The pictures are the property of the Foundation and were all taken at some time when the submarine was in active service. More photos will be added as they are acquired by the Foundation.

The Kursk in port Here is a picture of the Kursk submarine taken in early Spring 2000. During exercises in August of that year the submarine would suffer a catastrophic explosion and sink. The entire crew of 118 sailors were lost. |

An early NATO photograph This starboard quarter view was taken by the US Navy on 1 May 1985. A copy of the photo was even used in the book Soviet Military Power 1985, published by the US Department of Defense at the height of the Cold War. |
