Tu-160 'Blackjack'
Strategic Heavy Bomber

This section is dedicated to pictures of the Tu-160 'Blackjack' bombers and all of the many variants of this amazing aircraft.  As always, our pictures are Cold War originals that we hold in our physical possession.  They were all taken at some time when the aircraft was in active service.

Close-up of the cockpit and nose of Blackjack '87'

Another shot of an early 'Blackjack' bomber as it taxis on runway after landing in Puna, Latvia.  In this photograph the cockpit and forward landing gear are clearly visible.

The number '87' can be seen on the forward landing gear doors.

Engine and tail close-up

In this picture the engine nacelles can be clearly seen along with the panel details of the tail.  With the exception of the large red star, few other markings or identifiers can be seen.

The Tu-160 'Blackjack' taxiing on a runway

An early picture of the Tu-160 as it makes its way down a runway in Puna, Latvia after landing.  This late Cold War photo was taken sometime in 1989 by an observer who happened to be at the airport as the bomber arrived.
