An Early MiG-9 Wire Photo Article

A wire photo from ACME Telephoto.  What is really interesting is that the caption of the photograph has little to do with the MiG-9.  It tells of a MiG-15 attack on a group of F-51 Mustangs.  It reads: "5th Air Force, Korea: Russia's newest and deadliest jet fighter -- the MiG-15 (a later modified version of the MiG-9 above) attacked UN forces in Korea November 6th from base in Manchuria, a 5th Air Force spokesman announced.  The spokesman said the swept-wing jet, which operates in the 600 plus miles per hour speed range was sighted crossing the Korean-Manchurian frontier at Antung by a flight of four F-51 Mustangs after it made one pass at the Mustangs.  This photo was released with the above story on November 6th sometime between 1950 and 1953.
