Attack Submarine In Pictures

This section is dedicated to pictures of the 'Foxtrot' Class attack submarine.  The pictures are all authentic and were taken at some time when the submarine was in active service.  Most of these pictures were taken by the United States Navy during the Cold War.  Hopefully more Soviet pictures will be made available soon for us to display.

The Foxtrot and Kashin in the Mediterranean Sea

This picture was taken by the U.S. Navy in the Mediterranean sea in March of 1975.  The Foxtrot can be seen in the foreground, while a Kashin class destroyer can be seen in the background.

Foxtrot on Parade

Here is a Foxtrot on parade with Kiev class carrier in the background.  The crew can be seen in formation on the rear deck of the boat, while the commanding officers of the ship are saluting from the tower.

Foxtrot on the surface

Here we have a picture of a Foxtrot class submarine as it moves on the surface of the ocean.

This picture was taken by the United States Navy on 8 May 1983, but no location was given in the photograph description.

Foxtrots near Hawaii

In this picture we have a pair of Foxtrot class submarines that were part of a Soviet task force that had just cruised through Hawaiian waters from 13-15 September 1971.  This picture was taken by the US Navy on 14 September 1971.

A large composite photo of a Foxtrot on the surface

In this series of photographs you can see a Foxtrot class submarine as it rests on the surface.  Many small details can be made out in this photograph.  Unfortunately no location or date was given with this declassified photo.
