The 1930's were a time of tremendous innovation with the Red Army as they rushed to introduce modern weapons.  Semi-automatic pistols, automatic rifles, new sub-machine guns, and the first Soviet grenade were all introduced during this period.

In this section we will cover the weapons used by the Red Army during the early to mid-1930's.  Each weapon is accompanied by photographs, technical specifications, and a full description.  We have tried to focus of the history of each weapon's development, its capabilities and limitations, and where they have been used in combat.  The various types of ammunition that each weapon used are also listed and described.
