Soviet Artillerymen on the Front

In this heavily retouched radiophoto you can see a Soviet gun crew preparing to meet the German assault.

International News Photos took this picture on 24 November 1942.

 

 

Rushing a gun into position!

Here is another photograph of a gun crew moving a M1927 field gun from a covered position on the Leningrad Front.  The particular gun appears to have been placed on a different carriage and fitted with a shell deflector, but it can still be recognized by its wheels and breech assembly.  This picture was taken on June 1942.
