Uniforms and Field Gear
during the Conquest of Central Asia

This section will discuss the field gear and uniforms of the Imperial Russian armed forces during the years following the Crimean War and prior to the Russo-Turkish war.  It was the era of the great reforms that helped bring the army (and society) out of traditions that had persisted since the age of Napoleon into European modernity.

Uniform components such as buttons, head gear, cockades, and such will be displayed here along with information about when the various uniform regulations were implemented.  As this section is under development, keep watching for updates...
